The Role
As our first dedicated Lead HR, you will be the architect and champion of our people operations. This is a unique opportunity to build our HR function from the ground up, directly influencing our company culture and employee experience. You’ll be a strategic partner to the leadership team while also rolling up your sleeves to manage the day-to-day HR needs of our team.
What You’ll Do
- Full-Cycle Recruiting: Own the entire talent acquisition process, from crafting job descriptions and sourcing top candidates to interviewing and managing the offer process, ensuring a fantastic candidate experience.
- Onboarding & Offboarding: Design and manage a seamless and welcoming onboarding experience for new hires and a professional, respectful offboarding process.
- Employee Engagement & Culture: Act as a culture champion. Develop and lead initiatives that foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performing work environment. You’ll be the go-to person for all employee relations matters.
- Performance Management: Implement and manage a lightweight, effective performance feedback and development process that encourages growth and aligns with our company goals.
- HR Policies & Compliance: Develop, implement, and maintain essential HR policies and procedures, ensuring we are compliant with all local labor laws.
- Compensation & Benefits: Administer our existing compensation and benefits programs, and provide recommendations to ensure we remain competitive and equitable.
- HR Operations: Manage all HR administrative tasks, including maintaining employee records, coordinating with payroll, and managing our HRIS.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in an HR Generalist or similar role, preferably within a tech startup or small to medium-sized business. You should be comfortable being the sole HR person.
- Proactive & Autonomous: A true self-starter who can identify needs, take initiative, and manage projects from concept to completion with minimal supervision.
- Excellent Communicator: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and strong relationships across the entire company.
- Problem-Solver: A pragmatic and resourceful approach to challenges. You’re able to balance best practices with the practical needs of a growing business.
- Strong Foundation: Solid understanding of core HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, and local labor laws.
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field is preferred. HR certifications (like SHRM-CP or PHR) are a plus.
