Summary:
We are seeking a highly creative and experienced Lead Product Designer to spearhead the design and development of our upcoming mobile game projects. As the Lead Product Designer, you will be responsible for establishing the overall vision and direction for our games, while collaborating closely with a talented team of designers, artists, and programmers to bring that vision to life.

Responsibilities:

Conceptualization and Design:

  • Lead the design process from concept to completion, creating compelling and innovative game mechanics, systems, and features.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive design documentation, including game design documents, level designs, and system specifications.
  • Establish and maintain the overall vision and direction for game projects, ensuring alignment with the company’s goals and target audience.
  • Work collaboratively with other designers to ensure a cohesive and engaging game experience.
  • Conduct research and stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices.

Team Leadership and Collaboration:

  • Provide clear and effective communication to the development team, inspiring and motivating them to achieve their best work.
  • Mentor and guide junior designers, fostering their professional growth and development.
  • Collaborate closely with artists, programmers, and producers to ensure the successful implementation of the game design.
  • Resolve design conflicts and facilitate effective decision-making.
  • Conduct regular playtests and gather feedback to iterate and improve the game experience.

Project Management:

  • Work closely with the project manager to establish and maintain project schedules and milestones.
  • Manage and prioritize design tasks, ensuring timely completion.
  • Identify and address potential risks and challenges that may impact the project.
  • Ensure the game design meets quality standards and adheres to technical constraints.

Qualifications:

Experience:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in software design, with at least 2 years in a lead or senior design role.
  • A proven track record of shipping successful mobile apps.
  • Strong knowledge of game design principles and methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management abilities.
  • Passion for games and a strong understanding of the gaming industry.
  • Proficiency in relevant design tools and software.
